A: Triad transports thousands of frozen salmon per year from Seattle to Rotterdam.
The cargo is shipped in refrigerated containers and transit times last for months.
Presently there is no way of verifying if the cargo has been affected by temperature fluctuations.
******
B: Triad would like to provide their final customers with more information about
its business, culture and ethical salmon fishing.
Zertifier proposes the implementation of a fully customizable traceability process based on tag sensors that measure the temperature during the shipment. In order to do so, Zertifier would provide Triad with temperature sensitive labels that would be placed on boxes containing salmon. During the trip, those labels would measure and store internally information about the temperature. The frequency of those measurements is to be decided. Once the shipment reaches Rotterdam that data can be retrieved and uploaded to the cloud so that Triad team could download it for the record. In addition to this first leg of the journey, further temperature recordings can be performed, during the future trips of the merchandise from Rotterdam towards its final destination, as long as the labels are still attached to the boxes containing salmon.

Zertifier proposes a full traceability package for each Triad salmon which is based on blockchain technology. Once the frozen salmon arrives at the facility in Seattle, every fish is tagged by a single strap that contains a unique number and unique QR code. By scanning that QR code, using a cell phone camera, the final customer will be presented with a unique web page for that individual salmon. The content of that page is divided in two parts: The first one is about story telling regarding the Triad process using video, images and text. The second part is about blockchain data.
